Piano from the Beginning

From the first time you sit at the keys to playing real music alone: how a piano makes its sound, how to sit and use the hands, where every note is, rhythm and the grand staff, positions, scales, chords, touch and the pedals, practice that works, and pieces from Bach and Czerny to Chinese folk songs, lead sheets and the blues. Every plate has a keyboard that sounds, and with a MIDI keyboard plugged in the page hears you play and says what to change.

A Curionode course. Nothing on this site is fetched from a third party, and your progress, practice log and recordings stay in your browser; the microphone and a MIDI keyboard are used only when you press a button that asks for them, and what they hear is never sent. It does not replace a teacher, and nothing here is medical advice: pain is a reason to stop playing. The piano sound is the Salamander Grand Piano by Alexander Holm (CC BY 3.0); the music glyphs are a subset of Bravura (SIL Open Font License).
